What`s Wrong with being Anti-Gay?

I was refering only to those guys on Queer Eye, not gays as a whole. It's just those couple of guys who feel it necessary to rip the crap out of the subject before they do their transformation thing.
Definitely my least favorite aspect of the show. Although most of the "frat-boy" types who live in filth probably deserve it, I dislike it when any show uses the put-down technique to make viewers feel superior to the subject of the show. I pay no attention to that and watch QE for the fashion, cuisine, grooming and design advice, areas where I know I am deficient.

Back on thread, there are many things that I'm anti about, but I know the difference between being anti-something for me personally and trying to make-believe I know best for everyone else, too. When we start trying to foist our personal likes and dislikes onto others we commit an injustice. When we try to change our country's Constitution to force others into our beliefs, we commit a national crime of the highest order.

Yeah. What's that saying? Give me the strength to change what I can, the tolerance to live with what I can't and the wisdom to know the difference (something like that anyway). Sound like a reasonable way of looking at things to me.

"An individual should have the right to swing his fist as hard and as fast as he can - as long as in doing so, he doesn't connect with someone else's nose."

Glider - I've never watched the show to which you refer. I have seen a couple of other "makeover" shows. The client ended up wearing clothes that looked like they'd been left in the dryer too long - pulling at all the buttons. That's supposed to look good? It looks like the person gained 20# since they bought the clothes and can't afford to buy more.

'Course - I've never been one to consult others on what to wear or how to decorate my home. With regard to clothing - I would rather go shopping with a trusted friend who knows my likes and dislikes and my lifestyle.

With regard to decor - I want my abode to reflect me, not to look like a hotel room. I know how to paint and paper, make drapes and upholster furniture. My husband and I used to buy old boats, strip them to the bulkheads and redo them. Although people were usually very complimentary of our efforts, I didn't give a big fat hairy rat's patooty whether they liked it or not - they were only there for a brief time - my primary requirements were that I liked the colors, and that the materials were durable and easy to keep clean.

I myself do not agree with being homosexual, but I'm not really anti-anything. I'm just anti-umessinwithmylife. And nobody really has a right to stop anyone from doing anything that isn't taking away from anyones freedom, or causing pain in some way.

Its not about being anti-gay, or even disliking anti-gay people. It is about the supremacy kick many people are on, and the negative views they hold about people who are not the status quo.
