Klaynos Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Unsticking scotch magic tape. http://www.nature.com/news/2008/081022/full/news.2008.1185.html
swansont Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 You can also slam energetic charged particles into a piece of metal. That much is on wikipedia But this isn't really something that lends itself to a DIY student project. Making a large mount of x-rays as you'd get with an x-ray machine gets you into radiation safety issues, as well as high-voltage electronics issues.
sfn360 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 “From an old radio tube, some copper wire, and other inexpensive materials — total cost: roughly $20 — you can construct an X-ray machine that will make good pictures through an inch of wood.” http://www.noah.org/science/x-ray/stong/ http://www.noah.org/wiki/Polaroid_X-ray_Machine I’ve been saving up parts, but I can’t seem to find any Polaroid film.
