rigney Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I've been in the program now for less than two weeks but enjoy it immensely. Today I unintentionally made three posting of the same question. I don't know how, but it happened. Is there some way of erasing a multiple, or even erasing all of it? The administrator was rather prevoked that I did it and promised me two weeks off without pay if I did it again. I can read readin' but I have a hard time with readin' writin'. Someone help!!
jackson33 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 With all due respect, I have no idea what your talking about. However if nothing was lost (pay?) I'd be more concerned how the duplicate posting happened. On a forum format, most have an editing privilege, where you click edit and can simply cut the first two questions (post) and resubmit. I'd be more interested in how/why you enjoy something with such rigid policy?
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Don't worry about it. We can remove duplicates if necessary, and nobody's going to get suspended over an accident. Some people make a habit of posting multiple copies of threads all over the forum, and that's when it gets annoying.
rigney Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Thanks Cap'n? I'd like to hang around if possible!! Could you explain how I can prevent future incidents? Not an Idiot, just not too smart!
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Just don't hit the Submit New Thread button more than once. I dunno what else causes duplicates. If something goes wrong, you can use the Report button () to let a moderator know that there's a duplicate thread and it can be deleted. They'll take care of it.
Phi for All Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Could you explain how I can prevent future incidents?Don't let the red matter get near the wormhole.
Mr Skeptic Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Yeah, be careful of the submit button. Sometimes they work a bit slow and pressing it more than once will likely cause trouble. This goes for pretty much all the submit buttons out there, although some places have their submit button disappear when pressed to avoid this problem. If you have a post that you are unsure if it was submitted, copy/paste it somewhere, and check to see if your post is where it should be.
