DVD Player Regional Code

I have a Sony DVD Player DVP-NS715P which is restricted to playing DVD from Region 1 only. Is there a way to remove the restrictions and open it up to play from other regions also. I read that in some players it is possible to code in the signals through the remote control while in others the mods are more extensive to the player's pc board
