Dapthar Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I, and countless other posters in the Mathematics forums would greatly appreciate it if there were a "Wrap [math] tags around selected text" button in the Message Editor Interface window, similar to those for the "Bubble" and "bold" tags, for it would allow equations to be typed much more easily. Thanks, Dapthar
Dave Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Good request. I was thinking of a LaTeX bar with the most commonly used commands (\frac, \int, \lim, etc) but I never got around to it.
Dapthar Posted September 11, 2004 Author Posted September 11, 2004 So, has there been any progress on the "Wrap [math] tags around selected text" button as of yet?
Dave Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 Not yet. Sayo's probably the one to do it and he's on holiday until sometime next week.
ydoaPs Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 i like the quick links for LaTex. good idea. it should have the greek symbols, ^2, and \sqrt also
bloodhound Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 well i find the tagging easier than looking around a panel for a button.
Dave Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 LaTeX has so many commands it'd be impossible to list them all anyway. But I think we should probably have a panel to the right with things like \frac, \int, ^{}, etc. I'll see if I can create the code and then get blike to upload it.
blike Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Sorry I just now got to this thread. I'll see if I can get the button set up.
