deltanova Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 hey, i was reading new scientist and they had an article about the possiblility of a georeactor at the heart of the earth. I found some great links on it. http://www.daviddarling.info/encyclopedia/H/Herndon_Cathcart.html http://www.spacedaily.com/news/earth-03k.html
Thales Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I read that article too. Although I remain skeptical about the postulate that sufficient amount of radioactive material could have accreted to form the earth. If there was such an abundance of heavy elements at the earths formation, I conclude it would have graviationally attracted much more matter and thus been much larger(than it is and/or mars/venus). I could be wrong, it has happened before. An interesting idea no less.
deltanova Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 anybody could be wrong or right, untill it is either proved or disproved, thouugh we will know in soon time as they are developing stuff to test it.
