Primarygun Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I want to consult a question. That's about density of things. Why the gas ( with a low density) get out from the bottom of the ocean? Which force make it come out?
Thales Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Just a quick note, you don't consult a question, you consult about a question. The gases are released by slow geophysical processes, ie tectonic shifts and underwater earthquakes/volcanoes. It has little to do with density, as all gases(i think???) have a lower density than salt water and thus bubble up if they are released from their underground reserves via the proceses mentioned above.
Primarygun Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 Oh that's my mistake! What's the physical process called?
