Freeman Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Is it theoretically possible to build a robot out of prosthetic limbs (naturally, the prosthetics made out of metal)?
5614 Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 well to answer your question directly, theoretically possible, i'd say yes, whether it will or wont ever happen is another question... to that i'd answer, not in my lifetime.
YT2095 Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 of course you couldn`t, there`s arms and legs sure, but where would you get a prosthetic Back or head? ) then you still have to control the thing.
Sayonara Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 When you're asking about the possibility of building a robot with a certain set of resources, it helps if you mention what tasks it will need to be capable of.
YT2095 Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 indeed. however you could produce an automaton, and use it as a shop floor amimated manakin. but without the associated cybernetics (greek: streersmanship, aka guidance), you`de never produce a Robot (Slavic for "Work(er)" from the word Robota). think for instance the ballancing requirements for a bi-peddal gait(s) that take a hell of alot of proccesing power and feedback sensors. you`de be better off starting from sctratch if that`s your aim
