1123581321 Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 I was wondering if it could be at all possible that what the super black wholes in the middle of galaxies take in, later comes out as dark energy which then moves out into the true vacuum - that of open space
Farsight Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 I don't know if it's possible. But I was talking to a guy about something like this a couple of weeks ago. He was suggesting that some of the matter in the accretion disk is converted into space, which essentially "blows out" in a polar jet. He was offering this as an explanation of superluminal jets. In essence new space is being created, and whilst within that space motion is subluminal, the net effect is superluminal as per the expansion of the universe. I thought it was an interesting idea, and wondered how one might move from speculation to test.
