Cap'n Refsmmat Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Hey! Who told you about that BBCode? Right, I'm fixing the permissions on that now...
DJBruce Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 Yeah I was about to tell you about that on IRC.
D H Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Edit: The original problem (math mode didn't work) has been fixed. A simple test: How does a2+b2=c2 render in math mode? [math]a^2+b^2=c^2[/math] Comment: A little bit fuzzy, but not bad. How does y=mx+b render in math mode? [math]y=mx+b[/math] Comment: Once again, a little bit fuzzy, but not bad. Let's stress the graphics work. Any aliasing problems here? Symbols with sharp edges: [math]\sum_{x=1}\sqrt x[/math] Comment: The fat diagonal lines on the sum symbol, and the skinny diagonal line on the square root symbol render quite nicely. Symbols with no sharp edges but lots of curves: [math]\int_{\xi=0}^{\tau} e^{-\xi^2} d\xi[/math] Comment: The integral symbol looks very nice.
Dave Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Turns out that it was just a simple error. Now fixed, at least for new posts - you will need to edit your post to see changes. Edit: Even unedited posts should now be working.
D H Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Let's see how the graphics work. Any aliasing problems here? Symbols with sharp edges: [math]\sum_{x=1}\sqrt x[/math] Comment: Very nice. The diagonal lines on the sum and square root symbols are nicely anti-aliased, but no so much so as to make them fuzzy. Dave Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Thanks I spent quite a lot of time tweaking the image settings this time around so the output now looks quite nice.
D H Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 What packages are loaded? AMS LaTeX, and do we have begin/end environments? [math]\begin{aligned} a &= \phantom{0}6 \\ b &= \phantom{0}9 \\ ab&=42\end{aligned}[/math] That works, very nice! (My math skills on the other hand appear to be inherited.) What other packages are loaded?
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 amsmath, amsfonts, amssymb, color, slashed and mhchem are in use. (mhchem is only used when you use the ce tags.) We can fairly easily add more to the list if they come with the LaTeX distribution or are easy to add.
Dave Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 We can basically add any package that's included in TeXLive 2009.
