charlie10 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Hi I'm looking for a substance that that could clot together to glue two bits of rubber or leather together. Does this sort of substance exist? Any help appreciated! Many thanks Charlie
jimmydasaint Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) For leather, see this commercial site: Leather For rubber and gasket glue, see this commercial site: Rubber For a more academic approach, use this paper and cross reference from the tab on the lower right: Link Incidentally, polyurethanes seem to be useful adhesives. charlie10 Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 would it be possible to seal a puncture in a football by injecting glue (or another substance) into the hole in the leather to seal the puncture in the rubber bladder? If not glue what substance would be good? Thanks
jimmydasaint Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Try the link on Leather Charlie boy! It should do the job, or carry a guarantee of some sort and it is only £7.50 to buy.
charlie10 Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 thanks for the advice, will the leather glue be strong enough to pull the rubber together and clot which is already taught when inflated ? I'm after as longer term solution as possible. Many Thanks
