I checked the registration

It is 20 pounds

but free for PhD students

you get a banquet dinner at Blackett Lab

Monday evening

http://www.imperial.ac.uk/research/theory/about/isham60/index.htm

the reg form is online and there is a box to check if you claim

to be a PhD student. sounds like a good deal to me

no one would dare to offer Penrose bad wine

since he might write a book about it

[edit: drat! I just checked and the banquet dinner costs extra. even graduate students have to pay for dinner. the waived fee is just for the talks]

wish i could go..... sounds wicked, record it all, type it up, and publish it on sfn please!

[i wish, can ask anyway though!]

my mate who does physics there will probably go. ill ask him what it was all about.

suggest to your mate (from me) that special attention be given to the 10AM Tuesday talk

10:00 R. Loll: Emergence of a 4d World from Causal Path Integrals

it should have followup results on a paper that she and co-workers posted back in April of this year and which is online

Ambjorn, Jurkiewicz, Loll

"Emergence of a 4D World from Causal Quantum Gravity"

http://www.arXiv.org/abs/hep-th/0404156

John Baez had a lot about the Loll paper in his This Week's Finds #206

http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/week206.html

and he has said he will be at this conference (will be hearing Loll's talk

although he will not be giving one himself)

the first Ambjorn Jurkiewicz Loll paper was presented in May at

http://w3.lpm.univ-montp2.fr/~philippe/quantumgravitywebsite/

by now hopefully there are additional results that Renate Loll is going to talk about.

I am sure I dont have to tell him...

that speaks well for him

happen to hear anything about the first day's talks?
