Gilded Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 I heard scorpion shells (I'm not sure if it's some specific species) glow when exposed to UV-light.
YT2095 Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 this is quite true, it`s often the method used to capture them
jgerlica Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 Back to the original subject, I hope to have some interesting video of some peroxide fueled stupidity to post soon.
Gilded Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 "Back to the original subject, I hope to have some interesting video of some peroxide fueled stupidity to post soon." The last video of stupidity was great, I hope this one is too.
5614 Posted November 10, 2004 Author Posted November 10, 2004 this is quite true, it`s often the method used to capture them where did you get scorpions from in the UK??? The last video of stupidity was great, I hope this one is too. which last video? where? "Does that really work?! Did you try it?! Edit: oh... I bet you didnt really mean it that way... like white shirts?" clever edit!
Gilded Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 "which last video? where?" It's highly classified.
Sayonara Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 where did you get scorpions from in the UK??? http://www.reptileranch.co.uk/render.php?site=1&Ref=355&advertid=90&sel=87&flatsite=yes&CurPage=1
Gilded Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 I watched a document about unusual foods; there's a store in London that sells chocolate covered scorpions and other similar "snacks". Yum yum! Had any, Sayo? Now then, perhaps my next post actually has something to do with H2O2.
Sayonara Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Not scorpion, no. This site sells Imperial Scorpions - one of the largest (and imho most sleek): http://www.southcoastexotics.com/inverts.htm
Gilded Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Wow, quite awesome creatures those imperial scorpies. The brazilian red tarantula (nhandu carapoensis) seems quite interesting too. Costs quite a bit, though. However, spiders are usually a good example of small, harmless looking -> übercreature of megadoom. http://www.bighairyspiders.com/pix/carapoensis1small.jpg Aww http://www.chameleoncounters.com/tarantulas/Nhandu_carapoensis.jpg Aiyee! 4 inch legspan. Hmm. It seems my post wasn't about H2O2 after all. Well, can't win 'em all.
5614 Posted November 11, 2004 Author Posted November 11, 2004 It's highly classified. oh come on man!.... what video where???? pretty please
Gilded Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 If jgerlica doesn't want to answer, then you won't probably get an answer.
Sayonara Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Wow, quite awesome creatures those imperial scorpies. I ordered 3 today I found a site that sells brown recluse spiders. Pretty ****ing irresponsible.
5614 Posted November 11, 2004 Author Posted November 11, 2004 what? what are you gonna do with em? keep em in the pet scorpion cage? i spose this could lead to some interesting answers anyway!
Gilded Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 "I found a site that sells brown recluse spiders. Pretty ****ing irresponsible." You mean irresponsible in the aspect of them liking human associated environment -> multiplying, spreading?
Sayonara Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 You mean irresponsible in the aspect of them liking human associated environment -> multiplying, spreading? In the sense that they are one of the most lethal spiders on the North American continent what are you gonna do with em? The scorpions? Teach them to use miniature circus props I suppose. What was this thread about again?
Gilded Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 I really don't want to go off-topic even further, BUT I JUST GOT TO, BABY! Sayo, are we talking about Loxosceles reclusa? The fatalaties are really rare in the case of a bite from such spider.
5614 Posted November 11, 2004 Author Posted November 11, 2004 What was this thread about again? good point but please leave it open for a bit to allow jgerlica to reply re the videos! also what happened to the birthday query? "Teach them to use miniature circus props I suppose." interesting... dont know many people with scorpions as pets so just wondered, i mean, you cant take it on walks round the streets.... well i spose you could!!!!!
Sayonara Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Sayo, are we talking about Loxosceles reclusa[/i']? The fatalaties are really rare in the case of a bite from such spider. That's not the point damn it! Yeah ok
jgerlica Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 "which last video? where?" It's highly classified. All you need do is ask. And for the record, I was in no way involved with the events depicted thereon.
jgerlica Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Well, it would appear that i'm getting closer to my goal concentration.
YT2095 Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 well that was Dumb! what do you do for an encore? shave an eyebrow off too? LOL
jgerlica Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Almost as dumb as using picric acid as body paint eh?
YT2095 Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Almost! you`ve got some catching up to do still what on earth were you thinking when you did this? was it deliberate or did some just get on you?
jgerlica Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Well, that's an interesting story, by volume, it shouldn't have been that concentrated so I decided to forego the use of neoprene gloves. Well, much to my astonishment I wound up with a sudden pigment deficiency.
