interstellar travel

Great for interplanetary (about a month to Mars with a mass ratio of 10) Not so great for interstellar.

 

 

My vote for interstellar travel goes to magnetic sails, they will be slow but they'll get you there.... Generation type ships will be the ticket for sure unless some bright boy or girl comes up with some sort of warp drive type effect but we can't count on that can we?

if we improve our ionic propulsion system to establish at least a faster interplanetary travel. but for interstellar travel we could use dark matter to fold space in front of us and stretch it behind us thus traveling faster than light when our ship will barely be moving at all

Huh? Why dark matter and not ordinary matter? Do you have a link which explains how this theoretically would work?

dark matter over powers matter 5/1. if we could harness that matter it would cause an imbalance in space thus being able to bend it.
