Elektron Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 As i have studied it seems Haldol antidote is cocaine. Please comment and share some links who clarify that statement. Maybe aphethamines are more efficient lower stimulation peak and longer effect. Please comment that too. Thanks in advance
Horza2002 Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 It may seem odd that it is the antidote, but alcohol is the antidote to drinking antifreeze.
Mr Skeptic Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Not so much an antidote, but http://www.rxlist.com/haldol-drug.htm Since there is no specific antidote, treatment is primarily supportive. [...] Hypotension and circulatory collapse may be counteracted by use of intravenous fluids, plasma, or concentrated albumin, and vasopressor agents such as metaraminol, phenylephrine and norepinephrine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocaine Cocaine (benzoylmethylecgonine) is a crystalline tropane alkaloid that is obtained from the leaves of the coca plant.[5] The name comes from "coca" in addition to the alkaloid suffix -ine, forming cocaine. It is a stimulant of the central nervous system, an appetite suppressant, and a topical anesthetic. Specifically, it is a serotonin-norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor, which mediates functionality of these neurotransmitters as an exogenous catecholamine transporter ligand.
