I guess it could be possible...Nikola Tesla wanted to build towers that would take energy from the ionosphere or something like that...Though a tower that high would be difficult to build... I doubt the power is significant [though I could be wrong], most energy used by planes is in take off, and Most planes fly in the troposphere and stratosphere. The world record is 112km high in a plane. Thats only the lower part of the thermosphere/ionosphere.
