Gilded Posted October 9, 2004 Author Posted October 9, 2004 "http://stadt.heim.at/newyork/132276/Fr.htm" Yeah, I looked at that one too. What about it?
Gilded Posted October 9, 2004 Author Posted October 9, 2004 "i can get 140g for £96" A gram of cesium for under £2? Where on earth did you find that??
boris_73 Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 and its only about £30 per g i definatley want some
budullewraagh Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 they sell ethylene perchlorate there as well. im deeply disturbed.
Gilded Posted October 9, 2004 Author Posted October 9, 2004 "and its only about £30 per g i definatley want some" "i can get 140g for £96" Excuse me, am I missing something here?
boris_73 Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 go to elements then click on the HG symbol and it says 140g for 140 euros which is £96.81
Gilded Posted October 9, 2004 Author Posted October 9, 2004 Oh, so you were talking about mercury and I was talking about cesium. Case solved.
budullewraagh Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 who wants 9.03*10^10 atoms of plutonium-239 for 50 euros? seriously, that place is insane
boris_73 Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 "and its only about £30 per g i definatley want some" "i can get 140g for £96" Excuse me' date=' am I missing something here? [/quote'] sorry £30 per g i am talking about francium the 140g for £96 is mercury
boris_73 Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 yes i was on about ceasium at the start but they didnt sell it but then i saw mercury sorry for the confusion
Gilded Posted October 9, 2004 Author Posted October 9, 2004 Umm, a gram of francium would kill everyone within a couple of blocks with radiation poisoning. That's femto- or attograms they sell it (as decay producst, as you might understand).
boris_73 Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 still you carnt beat the price of francium 1g for £30
Gilded Posted October 9, 2004 Author Posted October 9, 2004 "they sell ethylene perchlorate there as well." And what's that good for? I've never heard of it.
boris_73 Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 what would you store francium in because there its been stored in a glass vial but if its so radioactive surley you would store it in a lead container
budullewraagh Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 um...it would decay before it got to your house anyway "they sell ethylene perchlorate there as well." And what's that good for? I've never heard of it. well, imagine an organic perchlorate. think about it for awhile... it reduces SO easily it's rediculous. as a result it is an incredibly powerful oxidizing agent
boris_73 Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 plus most probably increadably dangerous all organic explosives or oxidisers are dangerous. well why on earth do they sell it if it would decay before it got to my house
Gilded Posted October 9, 2004 Author Posted October 9, 2004 *Sigh* How many times do I have to explain this? It's like 0.1 attograms / gram of the substance within the ampoule.
Gilded Posted October 9, 2004 Author Posted October 9, 2004 Yes, since it's such a minimal quantity. "well why on earth do they sell it if it would decay before it got to my house" As I already said, it's a DECAY PRODUCT. So, at every given moment, 0.1 attograms of francium exists for each gram of the substance in the ampoule. So, if you had 10 grams of it, you would have 1 attogram of francium at every given moment.
boris_73 Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 so dont buy a lot, thats all that had to be mentiond
Gilded Posted October 9, 2004 Author Posted October 9, 2004 If you lived in a house made of the stuff, perhaps then it would cause some harm then.
boris_73 Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 if i lived i a house of the stuff i wouldnt go near the house especially if it started to rain:)
Gilded Posted October 9, 2004 Author Posted October 9, 2004 If you mean with the rain thing the reaction of francium with water, it doesn't really matter since even in a 100 ton amount of the stuff, there wouldn't even be a visible amount of it.
