jkoenig00 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 In one of the episodes of Into the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman he compares atomic particles to those of pixels in a video game. Like you can only zoom in so far until even the world that we live in becomes pixelated. For the question that I have, lets assume this is true. After considering this, it seems that if our universe is being compared to a computer, then would the speed of light be the maximum processor speed? If so, what could that mean? I was just thinking about this and i don't know if any research has been done on this, but I figured a forum would be a good start. Thanks!
Spyman Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) If the Universe is an enormous computer simulation, how do you think we could notice or verify that reality? Are You Living In a Computer Simulation? Edited November 15, 2010 by Spyman
swansont Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Pixelization sounds like an analogy to quantum mechanics. Processor speed as an analogy for relativity might go something like processor speed * size of instructions is a constant, but that's still not very good.
