boris_73 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 what eg. £1 will get about $1.40 how many dollars do you get to your Kuwait denar if its more then thats news to me well saying that nearly everything british has changed mainly due to the world war and europe
Gilded Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 1 Kuwait denar = 3.32 dollars. "yup, good site, but I get mine in 25kg sacks at a time :)" If I went to a store and said "hey, I'd like a 25kg bag of potassium nitrate, I'm going to use it as a fertilizer", they would probably call the police.
boris_73 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 bloody hell englands going to crap i mean we dont even have a high currency any more bollocks oh well at least we have a good army, and the only soldiers who get shot are from friendly fire from the amerians only joking
YT2095 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 "yup' date=' good site, but I get mine in 25kg sacks at a time :)" If I went to a store and said "hey, I'd like a 25kg bag of potassium nitrate, I'm going to use it as a fertilizer", they would probably call the police. [/quote'] more than likely, but then, do you, or can you provide and proove a reason for such a requirement? if you can`t, then is it any big surprise why they may do that?
Gilded Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Well, I'll just say that I have a one square meter lawn and I thought buying all the fertilizer it will ever need at one shot is a good idea. That should do it.
YT2095 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 unlikely, esp with AN, it`ll be a puddle of crap within a season if not correctly looked after
Gilded Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Maybe you can spare a few grams of KNO3 for a poor man when I come to England.
boris_73 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 250g or barium nitrate is being sold at http://www.ebay.co.uk for £7 if anybody is interested page 9 near the bottom under Laboratory Equipment as well as aluminium fine powder and iodine plus some other stuff
Gilded Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Barium nitrate is cool, but I would sell my other kidney for 250g of barium chlorate.
boris_73 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 i can go one further i would give my right nut if i could get hold of conical flasks and glass tubing well maybe not my right nut.
Gilded Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Hmm, didn't you want a condenser to make nitric acid and stuff? If you don't mind ordering from USA, United Nuclear (surprise, surprise) has Graham condensers and other lab glassware for sale.
boris_73 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 i have just forund 250g of mercury metal for sale on ebay. great
YT2095 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 and if you`re ever down this way I`ll glady pass on a conical and a few half meter lengths of tubing as for the Barium stuff LOL, gota a ceramics/Pottery shop, they`ll seel you barium salts and strontuim salts Jeez you guys don`t half get hyper!
boris_73 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 do they sell it to england if so you also have to included the shipping costs which will be expensive, anyway i was going to do it yts method get a glass rod bend it put one section through a cork covered in teflon tape and put the cork in the solution which is in the conical flask then put the cork with the rod in the flask and make it drip in to a container which is placed on ice i was also going to put ice in a plastic bag put salt on to lower the temperture even more and cover the exposed glass rod with it.thats why i want a conical flask and rod
jsatan Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 I know this sound stupid but whats Barium nitrate used for? You can buy nitric acid here in the UK.
Gilded Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Well, barium nitrate can be used to produce a green flame. Barium chloride or chlorate is way better, though. The chlorate is like the king of green flames. "You can buy nitric acid here in the UK." OK that's it! I'm coming over!
boris_73 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 all though i think i might know where to get a free conical flask. there is a program called brainiac 2 on sky one thursdays 8pm, anyway they have a 5 minute section of the show where views have emailed in to see if/what would happen if certain experiments were done, if i can think of a good one i might get picked and get a memorbilia which is......a conical flask on a wooden board. now all i need to do is think of an experiment
budullewraagh Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 a good site for finding pyrophoric compounds is http://www.unitednuclear.com
boris_73 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 jstan where do you get the nitric acid from in the uk then
boris_73 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 bloody hell mind my language thank you i would like that. but getting down there where ever you are would be a problem, i can drive, i passed my test about 4 months ago but i dont have a car, thats the problem
Gilded Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 "a good site for finding pyrophoric compounds is http://www.unitednuclear.com" I think that site has been mentioned about 30 times within the last two days.
budullewraagh Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 yeah i know, but i love it! check out the uranium animated gif
jsatan Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 lol. that guy on that site makes me laugh, thanks guys for the info about the green flame I red it before but just forgot. is it a really nice green flame? I'll go find a pic, google here I come
