Ramsey Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) Consider Leitz Wetzlar 10/0.25 170/- objective lens. I guess 10 is the magnification? But what are the 0.25, 170 and "/-" things? Eg., for Leitz Wetzlar 40/0.65 170/0.17 we have "170/0.17" instead of "170/-" as above. Can't find any info/FAQ via googling. Edited December 7, 2010 by Ramsey
Greippi Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 the 0.something is the numerical aperture - from which focal length can be determined (don't know the exact conversions off hand).
CharonY Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Magnification/numerical aperture; mechanical tube length/cover glass thickness (for higher NA)
