dacheese95 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 (edited) hi guys. i have a theory that may help us bring find a source to this energy crisis. well first off i got the idea off calculators with solar panels and thought why not. i want to ask you guys if this is even possible. take a look at the attachment and i will try my hardest to answer any questions u guys might have (its probably wrong and stupid but i think it was worth a shot) Edited December 12, 2010 by dacheese95
John Cuthber Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 It won't work. There will always be some energy losses from the system (for example, the lamps will get warm). The solar panels will never generate enough power to keep the batteries charged.
h4tt3n Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 This is really a form of perpetuum mobile. I remember spending hours and hours as a kid designing stuff like this
Mr Skeptic Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Just calculate the efficiency of the various components, and that will tell you how quickly your machine loses energy.
insane_alien Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 seeing as solar panels (easily available, non-prototype ones) can be as low as 5% efficiency, very quickly.
dacheese95 Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 alright thanks for telling me it was worth a shot anyway i guess 1
