tomgwyther Posted December 22, 2010 Share Posted December 22, 2010 The Diaphragm doesn't move up and down that much, at least, not enough to cause severe contraction of the abdominal organs. The chest cavity expands outwards and upwards to fill with air. If you lie on your back and breath this movement is more obvious. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
