ecoli Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 They say if you get a quick sleep and wake up before you go into REM, say 15 min. or so, then you feel more refreshed. any truth?
Peels Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 what is the difference between REM and normal sleep.... like i know what REM is, but say when you say "im tired i need to sleep" if person A had 5 hours REM sleep only and person B had 5 hours or non-REM sleep... when they woke up how would they feel in comparison to each other? Here is the answer to your question (only a theory, right or not, you judge it): the non-REM stage is responsible for the processing of the declarative memory, and the REM stage is responsible for the processing procedural memory. I found it from this paper: http://www.journaloftheoretics.com/Articles/6-6/Zhang.pdf So, I guess, both A and B will feel tired in someway.
