I was reading up on the infamous {money pit} on nova scotia, oak island mystery and i found it quite compelling as to the acclaimed people that invested in this, and still nothing has turned up really. From what i read the whole thing is shrouded in mystery, from pirate gold to alien space craft landing zones. What got me was the way it was built to literly be unobtainable and so far it has. The speculation is also that nothing is down there just a nothingless pit. But when drilling through multiple platforms they discoverd gold flakes and supposedly a stone tablet-rock with ancient markings of some sort. So from beginning to end i think this definitely worth looking alittle closer at. Just a topic to bounce some ideas around hope its springs up some great debate and interesting facts!!

The Oak Island mystery is indeed a fascinating puzzle, given that planks and blocks were found at a depth beyond the technological capacity of the people who supposedly placed the treasure to reach, given the pump and drilling equipment available to them. Since the date at which the treasure was placed is well established from historical sources which the characteristics of the shaft planks and blocks confirm, the paradox seems beyond easy solution.

The problem with the mystery now is that it can probably no longer be solved, given that the area has been so much disturbed by so many elaborate digging projects throughout the modern era that it is impossible to get a fix on where to look to find the original treasure location.

As i was reading i found that their is a flood bank, setup to flood the pit if the logs were removed. And when one of the earliest escavations took place, they removed them and the water comes in to fast. But i wonder with technology today if we could in a sense "pit mine" the site, and atleast get a better understanding of what lies beneath. And maybe the tactic used in underwater projects, like air pumps to remove the dirt. The more i read the stranger it gets....

The problem is that now the site has been dug and re-dug so many times in so many massive and varied disturbances of the land that there no longer is a detectable 'site' to explore, but instead just a confused heap of abandoned mining sites. I don't think that at this point you could clearly detect what was a modern disturbance and what was an ancient feature. Since the area has been repeatedly torn apart in an undisciplined treasure hunt rather than as part of a carefully controlled archeologial excavation, it would be next to impossible to reconstruct the original site to establish whether there was originally anything technologically astonishing about it or not.

I saw a History Channel documentary about pre-Columbian settlers of North America and they suggested that it could be where the Templars hid their treasure.

That was another theory, And i do believe it corresponds with the runestone in north America. If that indeed is of templar origins. Also more speculation on that note, is said to be the resting place of (A) ark of the covenant, templar treasure or even to the extent of scrolls to have origins elswere, regarding "secrets of the universe" Of course the longer somthing goes unexplained, it takes on a life of it's own. But what was more interesting to me was the origins of the construction.
