Hi all!

My name is Anne and I just joined the forum, I’m a new comer to Science. I’m still trying to understand it all and our little company (just me and my son) is still navigating through all the different ways to approach the industry. It’s a tough economy! I was wondering – for those of you involved in the industry (especially veterans) business owner or not, what are some of services, tools, strategies, or latest resources you find helpful or profitable in doing your work or - business? Online or offline, I’m sure there is quite a lot in both right?!

Thanks and God bless!

I think you really have to specify what field you're interested in. The complete business that revolves around "Science and Technology" is... well, it's pretty much the entire world.

The types of companies are very different. Taking a look for example within the field of chemical engineering. The big chemical industry (petrochemical) are mostly multi-billion international companies. But it's possible to start a single person consultancy company too.

"Science" is just a way to approach problems - the scientific way - but there is no such thing as the "Science industry".

Well firstly welcome to the forums, firstly i want to mention that the above poster is wrong on one thing, not only is science an industry, its one of the biggest industries in existence, so please check up on that; now to answer your question your going to need to explain what field of science you are trying to get involved with or pm me and I will help you in private: nice to meet you....

And what does the "science industry" make, according to you? I've heard of a knowledge economy, but that's not the same as a science industry.
