Yomomma Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Whether you choose to believe it or not, the planet is undergoing radical changes due to the polar shift and the solar cycle. For some the reason is unclear. However here is a reason that seems to clarify the causation of the polar shift: It’s simple really. The Earth & the rest of our solar system is below the Galactic Equator. Every 26,000 years our solar system passes through it. We go up through it and back down through it like a sea saw. The Galactic Equator has a North & South polarity like a planet, especially Earth. The problem is Earths North pole is facing the North pole polarity of the Galactic Equator. So basically the Galactic Equators North pole is on the bottom & south pole on the top. As Earth approach’s the Galactic Equator, getting ever closer to it, the two same polarity poles push against each other. Take two magnets & from a short distance away, face both of their north poles together, then slowly push them towards each other & you will see them push each other away. Now pretend one magnet is the Galactic Equator & mount it down so it can’t move, then pretend the other magnet is Earth. Then move the Earth magnet towards the Galactic Equator magnet & of course the Earth magnet will flip around. This effect is also what we call the Magnetic Flip, which scientist know happens in cycles but never explained why. In the featured picture above that shows the twisting of Earths magnetic field, what you seeing is the Earth’s magnetic field being pressed against with great force from the same polarity resistance by the Galactic Equators North polarity. Through the process of natural South Polarity & North Polarity attraction, the South pole forms the same shape as the North when the North pole is being bent out of shape. Earths poles are twisting because the Galactic Equator spins to the right & Earths also spins to the right causing the Earths magnetic field to twist like the threads on a screw.
D H Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Almost everything in this post is wrong. Yes, the Earth does undergo reversals in the magnetic field. The opening pictures are correct. However, these reversals have absolutely nothing to do with the solar system going through the galactic equator, and this passage through the galactic equator does not happen every 26,000 years.
michel123456 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 From the source of your images (Nasa site) "Sometimes the field completely flips. The north and the south poles swap places. Such reversals, recorded in the magnetism of ancient rocks, are unpredictable. They come at irregular intervals averaging about 300,000 years; the last one was 780,000 years ago. Are we overdue for another? No one knows." (Emphasis mine) The number does not match your 26,000 years figure.
Yomomma Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 If you really want to read the research paper and actual lab experiments performed to qualify this simple explanation then ask the author: http://theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com/2011/01/31/whats-distorting-and-twisting-the-planets-magnetic-field/ The author posted a comment on this topic and offered a simple explanation as to why it does reverse. The idea is easy to grasp, as opposes to no explanation of causation. If anyone can find a more precise explanation then offer one. Perhaps the irregular intervals of reversal are due to our position in space relative to other planets, galactic core, or the so called binary companion (second sun).

Perhaps the irregular intervals of reversal are due to our position in space relative to other planets, galactic core, or the so called binary companion (second sun). That is not a research paper. And almost all of the basic facts are wrong. For example, we are nowhere near the galactic equator.
