blike Posted September 26, 2004 Author Posted September 26, 2004 "So cool I'm superconductive!" "Getting skinnier as I approach the speed of light!" lol awesome, now to find illustrations. What kind of shirts do you guys like? Just plain white with text? Some sort of color/graphic? What style of graphic?
Phi for All Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 What kind of shirts do you guys like? Just plain white with text? Some sort of color/graphic? What style of graphic?I liked your idea of the retro-illustration style. The juxtaposition of the old graphic with the new saying is perfect. I vote black/dark shirts, white/light illustrations.
5614 Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 we could get swansont to draw some cartoons, he's good at them e.g. check out his site: http://home.netcom.com/~swansont/
blike Posted September 26, 2004 Author Posted September 26, 2004 Did you make that? If so where'd you get the image of those people? I love it!
Sayonara Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 It's from the "It came from outer space!!!!!" poster. I was trying to find a 50s sci-fi poster that had "science!" on it in that cheesy shock-horror font, but I couldn't find any, so the red text had to do "Progress - No one could stop it!" is next.
Gilded Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Haha, good one Sayo. I was inspired by the nearingzero.net science-related pictures, so here's Gilded's first ever science picture. It was drawn in about half a minute, so it's not too suitable for a shirt, but I think it's kinda funny. http://www.geocities.com/nabomato/uranium.JPG
Phi for All Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 so here's Gilded's first ever science picture.Great job, Gilded! Can you do the "In a parallel universe, I'm kicking your ass right now!" one next? Sayo, that is funny! I can't wait to see the "Progress" one.
ydoaPs Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Did you make that in MSPaint? it looks that way
YT2095 Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 I`m not sure I like post #34 (( maybe I`m being over sensitive, but it seems in bad taste, sorry and all that.
Phi for All Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 I`m not sure I like post #34 (( maybe I`m being over sensitive' date=' but it seems in bad taste, sorry and all that.[/quote']I agree, cancer is NOT top chapter in the Humor Handbook, imo. I know too many people who have it or survived it to wear a shirt around them. Kinda dark, but some folks like that. I thought Gilded had some better ones than that. Good work in Paint thogh, SCat.
Gilded Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 I think ionizing radiation is such a wonderful thing, not for cells though. Sorry if I offended you with the Chernobyl-idea. Here's a few to cheer you up: "Hey, I heard your momma is so fat, she turned into a black hole last weekend!" "I'm with a carbon based idiot ->" "Trinitrotoluene - helping people to get rid of their limbs since 1863!" "Breathing ozone is not good for you? Bah! I've breathed a lot of ozone in my childhood and I turned out ozone." "When I said I'd like a coke with my BigMac, I didn't want benzoylethylecgonine!"
YT2095 Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 this MAY need some explaining for those not into digital logic or Boolean. 2 b + --- 2 b the line above the second "2 b" is inversion" (NOT), the + is the logic symbol for OR. "to be or not to be".
YT2095 Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 ROFLOL @ the last pic, that`s Class dude! )
Phi for All Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Did you do those, Douglas? Those are great! I LOVE jabs at McDonald's, in any form.
Gilded Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Those are Nick's drawings. He has drawn a LOT of science related (I especially like the element-related ones), check them out at http://www.nearingzero.net . They even sell shirts of some of the drawings (such as these: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/store.aspx?s=nearingzero4 ).
Douglas Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Did you do those, Douglas? Those are great! I LOVE jabs at McDonald's, in any form. Phi, no, I didn't do them. I should have specified the web site, since I'm probably violating copyright laws. Anyway, I forget the web site, but I found them by googling on "cartoons on cosmology.
Douglas Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 This one is pretty good http://www.cartoonstock.com/lowres/bst0003l.jpg
