Dave Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 Mad Mardigan: you weren't joking about your desktop being clean No incentive to put stuff on it?
Sayonara Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 This is my windows desktop (my Linux desktop is quite boring):
Sayonara Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 XP Pro... and some ooey gooey extra bits of stuff
jordan Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 Yeah, I thought that might be the case. The oh-so-ooey-gooey parts were what I was looking for. Computer geeks
Sayonara Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 Most of them were from http://www.stardock.com Have fun
Mad Mardigan Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 Mad Mardigan: you weren't joking about your desktop being clean No incentive to put stuff on it? I like it nice and clean, only thing that has changed since the last photo, is there is now an icon for far cry. Had to add it for the mod to let you have no disk to play.
pulkit Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 nice dog pulkit! nice to see you keep CMD on there! and norton' date=' good good, i prefer the windows media v8, but thats just me also, looking at the time.... what were you doing on SFN at 00:07 (your local time)!?[/quote'] I am most active at night (working days are no exception ....)
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 This is my windows desktop (my Linux desktop is quite boring): Where'd you get the Mac skin? never mind, I found it. I like it! crap, the free version doesn't come with any skins. Ok, so I lied. Maybe it does. Let's try the mac one...
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Here's mine in Mac mode, thanks to that skinning thingy: As you can see, my ff icon vanished. Can someone post the file so I can put it in the right place?
budullewraagh Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Where'd you get the Mac skin? mmm, speaking of skins, i really like jordie's. brings a whole new meaning to the word "skin"
Jordie Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 mmm, speaking of skins, i really like jordie's. brings a whole new meaning to the word "skin" I am using the kde window manager on Linux. The wallpaper if that is what your talking about I got from Dwp wallpapers (just do google search for it) The skin I used on kde is plastic with the windows as kermick. The other stuff is eye candy. Linux rocks.

Perennial Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Anyone use these Java based applications which should essentially enable you to have "several desktops" in WinXP (similar to what you have in RH, workspaces or what are they called) ? Wouldn't mind having one if they wouldn't completely eliminate performance.
Mad Mardigan Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Hey subjunk, I have my limited edition reserved and ready for pick up on day one.
5614 Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 limited edition of what? "Anyone use these Java based applications which should essentially enable you to have "several desktops" in WinXP" -- Perennial there is this kinda feature in linux, i have never heard of a windows version and the most probably will compromise performance.
Lance Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 I just changed my wallpaper to this http://www.mleuschner.de/Media/QNBilder/dont_panic.gif
Perennial Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 "Anyone use these Java based applications which should essentially enable you to have "several desktops" in WinXP" -- Perennial Actually did some googling during these couple of hours and found some sort of a "developer interface" that enables you to have 4 separate desktops in XP ... and since its not by microsoft it actually works pretty well ... even with respect to performance, its essentially the same thing as in RH.
5614 Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Halo 2 for what, X-Box or PC? can you post some links to show this, or just the name of the program please?
MolecularMan14 Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Wouldnt you know it! My new keyboard has 35 hotkeys for everything, but the PrintScreen key has been replaced by a "Print" button. Does anyone know of another way to make a copy of your desktop without the button? A hotkey perhaps, or a windows command? Thanks!
5614 Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 mine only has 20 hotkeys and they are additional buttons, i will look into printscreening for you, is there really no button next to scroll lock other than print? does print send to the printer or print screen?
