Andreas
Hello! With my first post (apart from one in the introduction thread) I'd like to ask anyone who's willing to answer what your expectations are for the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS)? For anyone who isn't familiar with the topic it's sometimes labeled as an Anti Matter detector and is meant to measure cosmic rays. The instrument is scheduled to launch together with the last flight of Endeavour. Samuel Ting who has worked with the project for 16 years has his hopes up for finding new aspects of space, and says there's a chance of the new discoveries to affect all our lives in the future. My question is, what do you think could be discovered in space that would affect us in our daily life on earth? What are you hoping for? If it's alright I'd like to quote some of the answers in a post I made on my site about the AMS. (I won't risk being called a spammer and therefore I don't want to post a link to my site, just include in your answer if it's ok to be quoted. ) Thank you for reading /Andreas
