Firehawk Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Hey all, I've been thinking about this for a little while, and my searching around has brought me here. This seems like a great forum! If I were able to teleport, what would happen if I teleported to a higher elevation? For instance, I live near sea level (around 400 feet above sea level), what would happen if I teleported to a mountain at 10,000 feet? Would I experience the bends or something similar? On that matter, how quickly are you able to safely ascend to higher elevations?
SMF Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Firehawk, 10K ft is not that high up. A small unpressurized aircraft can climb this high in a few minutes. During this period one would "pop" one's ears to equalize external with middle ear pressure via the Eustachian tube. Instantaneous transportation would require a slow (i.e., a few minutes) equalization of air pressure to avoid pain. SM
