That's a pretty open ended question. Can you give us a better idea of what you're looking for? I mean, are you....

* Trying to get an idea of what it is MechEs do?

* Trying to get the 15 minute version of the education so you can imagine that you too are a MechE?

* Trying to see how varied the field is?

Blah blah blah. Hopefully you get the point. Your question is so broad that it's virtually impossible to answer.

Fundamental to Mechanical Engineering is how things are measured ; eg , Mass in Kilograms ( Kg ) , Force in Newtons ( N ) , Distance in Metres ( m ) , etc . www.bipm.org

There are numerous systems for measurement , S.I. was not invented overnight .

Can some one share some good test book or even video lecture on mechanical engineering

First year students would typically devote over 50% of their time to mathematics and general physics... both of which are a continuation of where the previous education left the students.

Topics would be:

- differentials, integrals

- linear algebra

- trigonometry

- etc.

It sucks to be a 1st year student, but the excitement when you actually understand all of it is well worth it. :)
