To me all three answers look correct, but I'm sure that only one of them is (the second one). 6÷2(1+2) = 6÷2(3) = 3*3 = 9 or 6÷2(1+2) = 6÷2(3) = 6÷6 = 1 or 6÷2(1+2) = 6÷2+4 = 3+4 = 7 Anyone any ideas? There are commonly accepted orders of operation. Different calculators, for example, may use different rules. Correct use of brackets should eliminate the problem.
