swansont Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 [math]_Z^AX[/math] If you know Z and A, the number of neutrons is A-Z. A is the approximate mass in atomic units, since each nucleon contributes about 1 amu to the mass, and Z is determined by the element, so you can look that up.
