Does there anyone know how to relax, reduce the stress a student facing?

I found that I am always tired after a sleep and when I am doing my homework or studying, I found that I think of the stuffs with a slow rate.

Did anyone face this problem before?

Suggest some method for me to relax, ok?

Fill a large tub with pudding (any flavor), climb in, wiggle your toes, plug in your laptop and visit this thread: http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5069&page=1&pp=20

Compose some mind-soothing haikus and post them, and if you still feel stressed, then visit this thread: http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1911

Read them all and if you know one that isn't in the thread, post it. Laugh long, laugh loud, laugh often. :D

Pure elements are a great way to relax! Drop a 10g iridium pellet from a high building (and see if it hits someone), take advantage of helium when you make prank calls, melt some gallium with your bare hands (and then realize how hard it is to clean it off) or instead of filling the tub Phi mentioned with pudding, fill it with water and drop some sodium/potassium/cesium/rubidium in there. Ooh boy. Also, making low-yield explosives is one great way to relax! Boom boom boom, stress goes away. :)

igniting something such as an easy to obtain and not dangerous hydrogen is also good for normal non-element collecting people!

just fill up a baloon of the stuff and put a torch near it, a nice fireball follows, but is totaly safe, due to the fact that all of the H is used up so quickly, theres no time to set fire to stuff and float away still alight!

Lavendar in your pillow (even better if home grown). some chill out muziks, and a good woman to give you a massage (Reflexology, feet too).

a Logical state of mind, a pint or 2 of Guiness, a well made bed with crisp clean cotton sheets after a Radox bath.

I`ve got no idea to be honest :P

Do you grow lavender yourself? Or some other nice plants? From what I've understood you do gardening of some sort. :P Talking about gardening, I think that's a great way to relax!

(Any pot to spare??? j/k) :)

If the pudding didn't help, or if you have the monkeys (those odd little thoughts that pop-up in your mind and race around in your skull when you are trying to go to sleep), think of a fantasy to play in your mind. You could be a superhero or a secret agent or a world-class lover or just about anything. Just make sure it doesn't remind you of anything that is currently keeping you awake (it shouldn't be about school, or a current love, or anything that will fixate you on real problems).

If you find yourself thinking about reality when you're trying to sleep, keep going back to the fantasy. Practise and build on it and you should get pretty good at blocking out the thoughts that keep you from sleeping.

I've never been good at emptying my mind, but this is the next best thing, I've found.

We Finns don't eat breakfast. We drink 30%-60% booze. :( I would like to try an English breakfast someday though.

I believe you. And it isn't illegal in Netherlands! Yay! :) No, really, drugs are bad. And definately not a good way to relax.

freshly ground coffee beans made through a fine filter into a Black coffee with a few sugars and a pack of Cigarettes is my breakfast, maybe the occasional slice of stone ground wholemeal toast or digestive biscuits with it.

there`s NO WAY I could drink Booze at that time of day unless it was winter and I`ll have a shot of dark Rum in my coffee.

Exercise always good to make you sleep properly.
But not right before bedtime, right? That always keeps me awake if I get my heart racing half an hour or less before my head hits the pillow.

Bacon, sausage, beans, a fried slice with mushrooms, Egg (although I can`t stand eggs), and Black Pudding :)
Tell me about Black Pudding. Would that be good in a tub?
Bubble`n Squeek with loads of gravy too' date=' can`t beat that for "comfort food" too :)[/quote']

in a "tub"? I`m not sure about? (define "TUB").

it`s basicly a type of sausage made from Oats and grains with pigs blood and spices and small chunks of fat, when fried it`s lovely :)

Bubble`n`squeek is hard to define as each home has their own recipe for it, but a really BASIC one would be leftover potatoe, cabbge or sprouts and a little Onion. All mashed up into little "Burger" type shapes or one BIG one, put into a frying pan and allowed to cook until golden on both sides, idealy cooked in Bacon fat from a previous meal :)

As in post #2 from this thread (a joke, not important, different kind of pudding).

Definitely not my version of pudding....

Heeey, that bubble 'n' squeek sounds like a Finnish food that's loosely translated just "roasted potatoes". They are also usually made from leftover potatoes and onion.

A relaxing food is Finnish "mämmi". It's really sweet, being made of rye, sugar and all that and looks like $hit, but tastes better! :) It's more of an Easter food though. A normal Finnish diet sadly consists of sausage, mustard and vodka/beer, so Finland isn't really your Culinarist Country of the Year. :(

http://daf.eduprojects.net/daf3/media/Puumala,%20Finnland/mämmi.jpg - Looks delicious, doesn't it? :D

that sounds all well and good, and VERY EASY to say. but have you ever actualy tried that and WON?

I know my brain just won`t have a "Stop It" at times no matter what, so I resign myself to getting back up out of bed and let it play all it wants

I feel Victimised! LOL :)
