China -- the next superpower?

Yand du china will always be weak while it is run by a dictatorship.Do you honestly believe your leaders care one bit about the people and poverty.Do you think their personal bank accounts will reflect the average middle class citizen's.Living in a democracy will never stop people at the top greedily skimming ,however in a democracy the people hold the power,and the government is accountable,and when fraudulent activities come to light(which sooner or later happens)..then the individual is fired or prosecuted depending on the evidence of wrong doing.Unfortunately the chinese system of government will continue to deprive its people,because it has no accountability.You mention a great deal about history,well history of your country over the last few decades from a westerners view is.Your younger generation is increasingly becoming more aware of the terrible human rights issues(surely you cannot remain blind to your peoples suffering),their numbers are building and uniting,their voices however quiet now will be heard.You will never build a large enough amount of tanks to silence them.And sooner or later your country which is bending in a breeze,will break to the power of freedom and democracy.

Some Chinese ignorants in some remote area are very horrible.

If they want to rob you, they cut your body with a big, sharp knife first.

No matter whether you had fought against them before or not, you would be hurt first.

Sometimes, the injury tries to chase them, although the robbers know that he was hurt, they will still cut you harder. In some extreme cases, their fingers are cut.

Also, minority of Chinese who work in some food industry, they are too clever to use some chemicals to preserve the food, add some additive to the ingredients to keep or make their appearance better. The chemicals involved, like hydrogen peroxide, some cyanide, some heavy metals, copper(II) sulphate. The purposes of them are earning money,earning the maximum, but their motions has frightened me a lot.

I always want to go to Shenzhen to buy some maths books due to the quality and price of the books there. However, hosts of Hong Kong went to Shenzhen were robbed , and some of them even get injected by a syringe, with a sleeping chemical. As I said before, the purpose is making money, the quantity injected sometimes may cause a long faint and even death. Moreover, I am frightened by the cleanliness of these syringe, particular afraid of HIV.

I hope that who plans to go to China won't be frightened by me, lol , but I commend you to visit some big cities or some well-known places, like Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong. If you decide to go to Hong Kong, remember to call on me!

China has been a political superpower for a long time. However, the primary thrust of this thread was a discussion of its emergence as an economic superpower. Then the thread sort of took a turn to the discussion of whether political freedom will/should become a reality to the people of China or why a strong central government is essential (in yang_du's opinion) to Chinese power.

So is France. Both are influential, neither a superpower. China is not a politcal superpower. It has a very strong influence in Asian politics, but a far less influential one in international politics. The last major story regarding China I can recall was the spy-plane incident with America. When making foreign policies, countries will take into account a superpower, I don't think this is the case with China, or Russia.

 

 

Moral corruption of the people themselves is an entirely different matter to whether or not China will become a superpower.

There is a long response to this and a short one. I don't presently have time for the long one, but the short one may appear rude. It is not intended to be. It is meant to promote a re-examination of the facts.

Communist is put up with lies and violence. Chinese goverment rules China with violence, and because the effect of this Chinese people are way too afraid to speak a word. The terrible things Chinese communist party did was enormous big. From my perspective they won't last longer than 10 years, and will be destroyed by its own people who has been tortured to death.

Communism isnt a bad government; its structured very well. Basically' date=' everybody works the same and gets paid the same. Everything you buy is through government, hens a closed market. The problem is that the world is pretty much open market. Communism isnt oppressive, it can be, like democracy, but communism itself can be run democratic.

1:Everybody gets paid the same,well... failure!! You go to work say 48 hours a week regardless of individual input you get the same wage.Work force ends up doing the minimum that is required(or that they can get away with).Employ more men to increase production,less work for larger workforce= big circle.No pay incentive for the best management= bad managers.For reference see majority of public owned companies.

2:Everything you buy is through the government...failure. I dont even have to explain that,anyone over 45 will remember food queing,inflated prices.For reference watch and read the current world news.

Obviously, communism would not be the most stable system for economic growth.

However, is it the best system for an intermediate, developing country?

Nowadays, development countries practising capitalism are suffering from economic recession, people suffer from unemployment. Lots of welfare measures are being given

to the poverty without any price, but it involves cost. I don't think this enormous allocation of resources would be much helpful than practising socialism for the poor, suffering from economic recession. People are too clever to know what circumstances they are facing. They protest, go strikes. I'm not going to support communism, on the contrary, I hate it very much.
