as people have probably become increasingly aware, China will be expected to become a superpower nation soon. Despite this however, we in the West countinue send out billions of dollars to China, which in some areas is actually more prosperous than a lot of places in the developed world.

 

Should we, people of from the developed world stop donating billions of dollars every single day to China?

 

When should we stop sending out money to china? ...they will overtake us soon.

Nach der jüngsten Übersicht der Organisation für wirtschaftliche Entwicklung und Zusammenarbeit (OECD) hat die Bundesrepublik mit durchschnittlich 441 Millionen Dollar im Jahr geholfen. Das sind umgerechnet 280 Millionen Euro. Die Summe bezieht sich auf die Jahre 2005 und 2006. Largest one is Japan with 1500 million, 3rd is France with 186 million. That is relatively far from billions per day, and one would probably (arbitrary guess of mine) end up around 3000 million per year, give or take a thousand million.

Yes, some money is 'given' to China, but as timo points out it's perhaps 3-4 billion per year in total. And for that money, those other countries 'buy' influence or at least a good relation with the Chinese.

 

And the OP makes it sound like the Chinese are a form of competition which we should hold back. In order to win a race, you can either slow down your opponents, or make sure you're the fastest yourself.

Thanks, timo. I was under the impression that the money was at least partially tied to certain projects. I recall some ecological projects in which the GTZ was involved, for instance.
