Some maybe most form cooperative/functional assocations from biofilms to mycelial mats - and the coenocytic fungi grow as mycelia without cells walls. They are responsive - to environmental stimuli, metabolically (feedack inhibition), positionally (e.g. chemotaxis). defensively, etc. and cells communicate(quorum sensing). If this was the nature, isn't it better for us to learn MICROBONGFU? This means that they are growing in certain environment exponentially!
