Alex Williams Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I just finished a project I've been contemplating for quite some time. Its a simple program with little creatures that evolve over time and I've been able to evolve a few interesting creatures. Things that evade other creatures, find food, avoid walls etc, however it takes time. Not quite as much time as real world evolution but enough to make me wish there were a few more instances of the program running. I was wondering if anyone with some knowledge of actual evolutionary processes wanted to give it a try and some feedback? The software can be found here: www.lexicon-labs.com Thanks!
Alex Williams Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 I wanted to thank everyone who downloaded the simulator, I really appreciate it!
Alex Williams Posted July 25, 2015 Author Posted July 25, 2015 I've recreated this project and remembered how many people on here had tried my original simulator. It is now going to be more of a game but the science behind the evolution of the creatures is still pretty intense. If you are interested I put a scaled down web based demo here: Evolution Demo 1
Alex Williams Posted July 26, 2015 Author Posted July 26, 2015 Thanks, there are also some videos/images here: Greenlight I had decided to 'gamify' the simulation to get more people running it, since the creatures are uploaded/download the more people who play it, the more interesting it gets.
