OneWithEnki Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I am working on a project that is requiring me to find a material, chemical or basically anything that sticks to wood extremly well. If anyone knows of anything It would be much appreciated. peace and love - OneWithEnki
OneWithEnki Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 Do you know of any other materials? Preferably ones that stay Sticky for a long period of time??
skwiff Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Do you know of any other materials? Preferably ones that stay Sticky for a long period of time?? super glue, 2 part epoxy resin, silicon acetate, contact adhesive, boiled down sugar...
OneWithEnki Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 okay thank you that sounds good. What about tree sap do know how long that stays sticky for once it is dried?
skwiff Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 okay thank you that sounds good. What about tree sap do know how long that stays sticky for once it is dried? if you use a pine sap or cypress sap then the wood should be stuck together for a long time, but sap is even more brittle than super glue and epoxy 2 part
OneWithEnki Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 alright thank you. What material would you recomend using to combine with the Silcon Grip Palm on these glvoes in this this picture down below the 2 part epoxy resin, silicon acetate, or contact adhesive and still get the long lasting sticky grip that im looking for. If it is even possible to combine the silcon palm grip with either of those 3 materials. Box finger construction for a close fit
Silicon grip palm
Sticky print on fingers and thumbs
Knitted soft cuff
Average weight (pair): 70g / 2.5oz
Fabric content: 100% Polyester
Colour: Black
Pantaz Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 If you would tell us what you are trying to accomplish, you will get more specific answers.
OneWithEnki Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 good idea lol umm Trying to create an incredble sticky glove that sticks to wood really well thats about it im not sure how or what material i need to use to accomplish that do you?
OneWithEnki Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 yea i guess its just for my science class but i dont know if I will be able to it because everyone seems to stop responding with an answer lol
OneWithEnki Posted September 6, 2011 Author Posted September 6, 2011 So im guessing you dont orr...? lol
Iggy Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 it sounds like you would want a pressure sensitive adhesive rather than a glue that dries or sets. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pressure-sensitive_adhesive of course... nothing ever beats duct tape
StringJunky Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 (edited) Do you know of any other materials? Preferably ones that stay Sticky for a long period of time?? Do you mean has excellent adhesion properties and dries out but remains elastic or that the adhesive has excellent adhesion but remains tacky for as long as possible...like the glue on flypaper? Realitycheck Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Something with a bunch of tiny barbs on it, like insects' legs and linemen's boots.
OneWithEnki Posted September 15, 2011 Author Posted September 15, 2011 I thinking it would be like the glue on flypaper but it cant just be completely stuck to the wood it has to be sticky but at the same time be able to be re moved and re stuck again and again and again if that makes sense?
