Guest propertyofda Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 I am only a fifth grader, so would appreciate it if no one laughed at me for asking this question but I cant find the answer ANYWHERE........ What was the first man-made object to go faster than the speed of sound? If you could tell me it would be greatly appreciated, and yes, I did try to find the answer myself but failed.
YT2095 Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 probably a Bullet or an old explosive discovered during the days of Alchemy. Mercury Fulminate is one such product.
crazybean Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 HI hope this isn't too late but it was the whip. I am absolutely sure.
ed84c Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 yes, the wip 'crack' is the sound barrier being broken. Well probably more likely, A wet towel!
Glider Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 Nah...more likely a whip I think. They probably had whips before shower rooms (I'm just guessing).
YT2095 Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 excellent point, whips existed long before ordinance, I must have fire power on the brain! )
