So, that site shows a single example of a poorly constructed building, and then writes the following conclusion:

"Don't you feel better now that these are the folks that manufacture nearly EVERYTHING we buy and use today?"

I'm sure it's supposed to be funny, but I dislike this form of humor. Generalizations like this are just fallacies. Since it did not make me laugh, I will just treat it as a serious remark.

Anyway, people always have a choice: buy expensive quality goods, or cheap and crappy goods. Most people obviously want quality stuff for a low price, but that's just not how the world works. The Chinese make stuff at a low price, and the result is that quality is sometimes lower than we want. Feel free to pay more for more quality though.

Correct; there is an evil comment on that site, and against your sure supposition, is not funny. It is about civil engineering gone wrong.

About the choice of buying expensive quality goods instead; manufacturers of those have and are daily dying like flies unable to compete, with less and less better items available to the public.

That is if they do not join/have joined the outsourcing of goods and labor, to fall in the same poor category.

That's just how capitalism is supposed to work. Too little demand and/or too much availability will kill a business. The availability of the expensive quality goods is too big, and/or at that price nobody wants to buy it.

Doesn't anybody see anything good in this Chinese picture ? Yes , it fell over , hey , it looks like it's in one piece , lift it back up , does anybody have a crane big enough ? There is obviously signs of progress , is it reinforced concrete ?
