10 A Well thats stuffed my plans for bomfire night. Dam IEE wiring regs. Who in their right mind thought a 13 A outlet would be enough.

 

Can’t you just use another outlet with a different breaker? Or you could probably use two outlets in parallel.

 

But would you really want your first coil to be that big anyway?

 

Theoretically my coil should draw 3 amps.

the 1`st idea is the best if you can get the phase right.

the second idea`s not so good, as ring mains won`t allow it, you`ll still be drawing off the same "wire" so to speak. thus a local fuse should be all you need as long as it`s within the cable rating :)

I was being silly realy. I could disconnect the upstairs ring and use that or use the cooker outlet as that should cope with about 20A constant. How much would it cost and where do you get wire with that kind of insulation.
