bloodhound Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 recreational mathematics is NOT I repeat NOT another word for "Game theory". Game theory is another branch of mathematics ( or economics?????). i am not sure what recreational math is.... but Mathworld has some stuff under recreational maths http://mathworld.wolfram.com/topics/RecreationalMathematics.html
Dave Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 I believe it's a term for things like math puzzles, etc. Game theory was invented by von Newmann, wasn't it? Models wars and stuff from what I can remember.
