What are you struggling with? The bible only really says anything about the creation of the Universe and life. If you stay away from those areas can you really have any issues? We don't discount the potential for such a reality as God, just consider it a question history has yet to successfully resolve. And we came deliberatly to the conclusion that whatever 'the church' claims to be, catholic or otherwise, any theologically based tradition, has by definition, can have nothing to do with with either God, Christ or truth. I cannot believe that as a scientist and a catholic you wouldn't find a fair bit of solace in it and a clear indication that there is no conflict between being both.
