Given any two nxn nonsingular matrices A and B, prove or disprove the following statement:

 

If AB=-BA, then at least one of the A and B is singular.

 

i tried to use the characteristic det = 0 but nothing really happened. Please help :(

Your first phrase states that they are both non-singular - you will struggle to use that as the starting point to show that either matrix must be singular (is is non-zero perhaps)
