Guest Radiosity Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 http://www27.brinkster.com/radiosity/molecule.htm There it is [you'll have to download the chime plugin if you don't already have that -- you may have to ctrl-refresh to get it show up. The jpg will display fine, though.]. I'm pretty stumped here. Only a sophomore in highschool =P. Help / Hints appreciated -- thanks -- Chemistry is pretty fascinating to me, but the teacher is kind of boring. EDIT: After a bit of research, I'm think that this is probably caffeine. Am I correcT?
fafalone Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 You are correct, the purine group, 10 hydrogens, and 2 oxygens are a dead giveaway. In Chime (and most other programs), oxygen molecules are red, hydrogen is white, carbon is gray, and nitrogen is blue. From this you can count all of them and get the chemical formula C8H10N4O2, which is easy to look up.
