I don't suppose anyone here has seen the film Demolition Man, eh? Very funny sci-fi film with Wesley Snipes and Sylvester Stallone, in which both of them get frozen and wind up in the future. At one point, Stallone happens to find out that Arnold became president (complete with having the "natural born" requirement overturned because of his popularity).

The best part is this movie was made *way* before Arnold showed any interest in politics. Creepy, how life can immitate art, eh?

Right, Sandra Bullock's amusing breakout role. She actually mentions the number of the amendment that changed the constitution to allow that, if I remember correctly.

The irony was aimed at Reagan at the time, but you're quite right, it still works very well today. :)

Well' date=' I rather think someone who was prime minister of approximately 1/6 of the world's population (not to mention the world's largest democracy) is entitled to fit that category.

And if you were prime minister of a country that is centre stage of many of the disputes and wars of the lasts forty years, then that could be argued for also.[/quote']

Fair enough.

Not really, Schwarzenegger has been public declaring his intentions since the early 70's. Before he was famous, he put together his steps to becoming president, starting with becoming Mr Universe, using that as a catalyst into movies then using the money to make a business with enough cash to run for Governor then use his popularity and cash to become President. Simple.
