Edward Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 http://jnaudin.free.fr/lifters/main.htm Tells you lots of info about this. How do you think these may work? I have heard the following theories. -Static Electrical feild -Magenitic feild -Gravational feild -Other EM feild -Ionic wind -Electrons moving from wire to foil. -Vibratios of the wire -Movement of the foil Some of these have been dissproved I am just interested in what you guys think.
5614 Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 wow, never heard of these before, how hard would it be to build your own? dont have a clue what makes it... seemingly physicists are trying to find that out!
Edward Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 It is not a hoax i have tried this myself. It is very cool. If you dont belive it try it yourself.
Edward Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 It cost me 5 $ to do and some begging to my science teacher at school to use the power supply.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 By the way the video appears, it really looks faked. Whenever it gets near the edge of this "platform" it dives off to one side, like it was held up by jets of air in the plate or something.
Edward Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 There is more than one video by many people around the world people do demos at conventions all over. I don't want you to say it is impossible or fake till you try it yourself im shire you can get ahold of some time to use a powersupply like this. And why are you looking for reasons to call it a hoax?
5614 Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 It cost me 5 $ to do and some begging to my science teacher at school to use the power supply. ok ok, only one way to find out... tell me for $5 how do i do it??? i have access to that amount of money, a power supply 240V but i can use a transformer... what do i do?
Edward Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 http://jnaudin.free.fr/lifters/howto.htm you need a min of 10kv power i think
swansont Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Seems to be ionic wind. Pretty useless in space. I've never seen any demo that shows it working enclosed in a vacuum. Pretty useless if it generates a few grams*g of thrust and can't lift the 5 kg power supply, not to mention the fuel source you'd need.
Edward Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 Well so far these are prototype designes and it may be possible to generate allot more lift for now tho these are garage hobbies.

Edward Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 Where does it say that? And what does what he said have to do with antigraqvity?
Edward Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 It says nothing about antigravity or artificial gravity. It does talk about Gravational feilds but if you read a little further into the different articcles no one gives a definitive answer as to how it is caused. Also could you please explaine exactly what you are asking about in your question.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Creating a gravitational field is artificial gravity, right?
Edward Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 oops i misread ur post u said creating yes that is artifical also could you rexplain your earlier question.
[Tycho?] Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 No lol. If creating a gravitational field is not artificial gravity, then what is it exactly?
5614 Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ionic_wind (quite usefull and as a trusted site, should convince others this is not a hoax) so its made by ionic wind (explained thoroughly in the top link)... here's how to build one: http://jnaudin.free.fr/lifters/howto.htm anyone intending on trying?
swansont Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Then why does the site say it generates artificial gravity/antigravity? Because they're crackpots?
