Im working on an assignment for my HND at the moment and stuck finding info for the last part of a question as follows:

"parallel resonant circuits are very commenly used in telecommunications. Why are they prefered to series resonant circuits in telecommunications applications?"

can anyone help? I would greatly appreciate it!

thanks

The two resonant circuits have opposite effects at resonance. For that reason they would be used for different purposes. I wonder, but don't know, if the question is concerning itself with resistance (particularly of the inductor) and its effect in practical circuits. Perhaps the first part(s) of your question points you toward a particular application?
