What is the effect on a moving charge particle as the magnetic field become more intensified. The reason I am asking that I read in a book

that the magnetic field only have effect only on changing the direction of a moving charged particle and doesn't affect its speed.

It's true that a magnetic field creates a force perpendicular to the direction of the particle's travel, so it can't affect its speed. However, a changing magnetic field induces an electric field which can do work on the particle.
